I think you are asking that limit question:

Here x can take only positive values. You can see that when x>1, we have ∞/∞ form. So using L'Hopital rule, we get the limit is 1.

When x=1, the limit is 0.

When 0<x<1, the limit is -1.

Thus limit has "jumps", so is not continuous.
