Not sure about it. UGC conducts NET exams is common for these subjects.
Economics / Rural Economics /Co-operation / Demography / Development Planning/ Development Studies / Econometrics/ Applied Economics/Development Eco./Business Economics
AQF does not figure in the list. To avoid the dilemma ask at MSE if they provide equivalency certificate for AQF. If your aim is placements, go for it. If your ultimate aim is academics, never go for it. It is better to pursue PG in distance mode.
Nope. its sad but General economics is only eligible for NET and those subjects wch Ibrahim mentioned above. Not environmental or Actuarial or financial. though they can gv u jobs in NGOs etc. Check the NET website .
That's not true Jaydee! I know someone who's done NET after MSc Environmental Economics from TERI and has even become an assistant professor in DU after that! To that extent I think Environmental Economics pretty makes you eligible for NET but i cant say about the other specializations.. financial economics and all!!
If you get an equivalency certificate to the effect the environmental, actuarial and financial economics is equivalent to Economics, it is fine. It is easy to get such a certificate. Actuarial and Financial Economics have course content similar to Business Economics. But not sure about AQF.
Nevertheless, it is always better to study a pure or applied economics course. Some jobs in state governments and under RBI demands it.
