Entrance exam conducted by Delhi School of Economics is the only criterion through which one can get admitted to MA(Economics) program of University of Delhi. If one clears the entrance, he/she will have an option to get himself/herself enrolled in Delhi School of Economics or Stephens College or Sri Ram College of Commerce or other colleges accepting MA(Economics) enrollment. Regardless of where one enrolls, he/she will be attending lectures at Delhi School of Economics. Student enrolling himself/herself in other college will have access to the facilities of the college such as hostel, library etc. Colleges will not conduct any lectures. For lectures student will have to come to Delhi School of Economics.

thank you :)

I was wondering if this provision has been added this year or was it there before also? Because one can see that last year when DSE declared its merit list around 180 students were qualified (which is equal to the number of seats in DSE, I think!)

Now if DSE entrance becomes the sole criteria wont there be a 'counselling' kind of thing where one will opt for a college (of DU) according to his/her rank in DSE merit list? DSE prospectus mentions nothing of this sort. It just says a student qualified in DSE entrance will be free to join any of the mentioned DU college.

(My above argument becomes void if there are total 180 seats only in the entire DU for MA economics, which I think is highly unlikely)

This provision was always there. Number of admission offers will remain the same regardless of where you take admission.

I am in D-school right now and when i got admission last year, we were not asked which college to enroll for as no such thing exist. you only get admission in DSE and you don't enroll in others. I don't know about this year but i think DSE authorities forgot to edit that portion from their brochure and they just keep changing dates and keep printing every year. So, No Stephens, SRCC etc...Only DSE.
