in my case 12 grace marks have been given.It was necessary, otherwise only 10-15 people would have got through. I have heard that in 2010 also 4-5 grace marks were awarded.

And it was not required for the people getting admission through direct mode to score above 40. its clear in the information bulletein.

does any one know how many duplicates are there in the merit and entrance lists?

I think all there will be a second list with all candidates scoring above 40 going through. Plus no general student will be admitted with less than 40 marks . And it means some seats will go vacant.

Are you guys planning anything? An RTI or anything like that? Because I too feel this normalisation has cost many students badly. The worst thing is that it seems apparently random.

dude the problem is in response to an RTI ,they will probably give us a formula with 4 or 5 integrals and what not...too complicated for us to decipher......but i might..just for the fun of it...but i dont tink there will be a 2nd list..they have taken 17 buffer students this time
