1.f(x1,x2)=(x1+1,x2+1)
& g(x1,x2)=(x2,x1)
which of these two a linear function?????????
a.both are linear
b.neither is linear
c.f is linear ,g is nt
d.g is linear f is nt

2.Ua=x+y    E=(1,0)
Ub=(e)^x^2+y^2+2xy      E=(0,1)
what is the pareto efficient set????
a.(x2,y2)=(1-x1,1-y1) ,x1,y1 E [0,1]
b.(x1,y1)=(e^a,e^b) and (x2,y2)=(1-e^a,1-e^b) for all a,b E (-00,0)  {E means belongs to}
correct answer is a....my question is what is the diff btwn these two options above...????/

3.question 55,56 of 2008...if A is a set of real nos.........................

Nop f ain't coz

f(cx1, cx2) property leads to : (cx1+1, cx2+1)

bt it aint equal to

cf(x1,x2)=(cx1+c, cx2+c)

@ a.m.
I had called the DSE people, they said its not required, only the bonafide is necessary  Self-attestation will suffice

Hmm I'm not very sure about that, a.m. I think it'll be okay. I will call them tomorrow morning and ask.
Has anyone on the forum done attestation?

No I am unfortunately not from D.U  Maths is okay, but the quant eco is pretty bad for me. I think other than D.U., no university really teaches much that's useful in entrances such as these

Khagesh you should do plenty of consumer theory, general equilibrium, production, costs etc. Also topics like intertemporal choice, uncertainty and risk etc. These are for micro.
For macro be sure to do ISLM, monetary theory and AD-AS.

I wish DSE had a system of issuing an admit card like IGIDR or JNU. Or at least mailing an admit card like ISI and GIPE. That way we don't need to stress out about whether or not our application was accepted/received

let a=(a1,a2) and b=(b1,b2)

property of linear fn: f(a+b)=f(a)+f(b) and f(ca)=cf(a) c is a scalar

for function f(.,.):

f(a+b)=f((a1,a2)+(b1,b2))=f(a1+b1,a2+b2)=(a1+b1+1,a2+b2+1)...[use info given]

f(a)+f(b)=f((a1,a2))+f((b1,b2))=(a1+1,a2+1)+(b1+1,b2+1)=(a1+b1+2,a2+b2+2)..

so f is not linear.
similarly go about g(.,.) it'l satisfy both properties of linear fn

2. entire edgeworth box is set of pareto efficient allocations,in option d since a,b can never take values 0 it eliminates the allocation (x1,y1) (x2,y2) (1,1) (0,0)

56.

refer to the form of fn(x) given in 55,
now do the same for n=2,n=3 you'l get 1 for all the cases so its a constant sequence.

55. even m stuck ..any suggestions will be really helpful!

Hi a.m. I just called the DSE office, they said it's all right, my seat numbers for the exam has been allotted irrespective of the non-attestation stuff. So it's cool. However, I do not know about attesting the admit card
