Discussion Problem_(18)

Q1) Suppose the probability density function(pdf) of a random variable X is given by:
f(x) = kx(2-x) for 0≤x≤2
      = 0 otherwise.
Find "k" and mean of X.

Q2) There are 6 boys and 6 girls.In how many ways can they sit together in a ROW such that boys and girls sit alternately.

Q3) There are 6 boys and 6 girls. In how many ways can they sit together in a CIRCLE such that no two girls are together.

q1 and q2 same as devika.
q3)6 boys can be arranged in a circle in 5! ways
no two girls sit together. implies boys and girls alternate each other. so girls can be arranged in 6! ways.
reqd ans 5!*6!
