a) u(x,y)= min {2x+1,x+y,2y+1}

b) u(x,y)= x+y,             if y>=x
            = 2(xy)^(1/2),  if x>=y

c) u(x,y)= min {x+y,2y}

Note: (xy)^(1/2) is read as "square root" of xy.

The hicksian price effect is not at all clear tCan you please illstrate one example mathematically on the website showing how to take out the income and substitution effect by this method.
