Help : Mphil in India

Simran.A
Hi.. I did my Eco Honors from DU and then my Masters from IGNOU. I have been working wd an MNC for a Govt project in skill development for quite a few time.. I want to pursue Mphil in Economics from a reputed university in India. This forum is awesome !! need ur suggestions guys..

The main problem I encounter wd DSE or JNU is that perhaps I feel to crack their entrances, one has to be thorough wd 'their master's level curriculum'. So personally I feel its very difficult for an outsider to get in.. I may be completely wrong.. but then is there a way out to it ?? Please guide..

Thanks in advance..

You are absolutely correct... In DSE and JNU wht they teach in MA. They ask  same thing in entrances like models and concepts. So better keep in touch with Dseites and JNU ppl and apply some B level universities as your backup. I tell u incidence of this time only 1 student from DSE got thru in MPhill at JNU and rest of the students are from JNU itself...  Same happens in DSe.. So, I would suggest u to prepare well keep in touch with students of these and other reputed institutes and universities. Apply at multiple places too..

References and books u can get at CDS & MSE sites with detailed descriptions.. In their course sections.. which is applicable to most of the MPhill programs.
References are also given on DSE sites too...
Following Univ or Institutes u can try for MPhill.
Tier 1: ISI, DSE, JNU. You can get most of the study materials on their respective Xerox Shops.
Tier 2 : IGIDR, CDS, MSE, HYDERABAD UNIV, PRESIDENCY,JADAVPUR, JAMIA

Hi simran.. All that u have said is true, but trust me nothing is impossible. I know someone from jnu currently in his PhDs and he recently told me that there come a lot of people from different universities and colleges , people who have not pursued their masters from jnu but are pursuing mphil/PhDs from there. Just get hold of the previous year papers and start rebuilding your concepts, I m sure something good will work out.
