Cobb Douglas utility function

U(x,y) = x^a*y^b

Here the utility function is concave, right ?( and thus Quasiconcave )  ?

But if we draw the Indifference curve , that will be convex. So, it is possible that a utility function is concave but indifference curve to be convex. (is this always the case, that utility function will be concave ? )

@ashutosh....concavity implies quasiconcavity
and if utility function is quasiconcave then it imples that indifference curves will be convex to the origin....
and it is not neccessary that utility functions r alwys concave.....
if u r able to show that a particular function is quasiconcave den it automatically means that IC will be convex....
