It depends. If you are from DU, St. Xavier's Kolkata or Presidency Kolkata the course there will be not only a repeat of what you did in your undergrad but rather sub standard. The people who go there are essentially people who had B.A. and not an honours in Economics, i.e. Economics was not their major. So the peer group there would not be intellectually stimulating, atleast not wrt to Economics. Placements are okish. Some get placed. And certainly not the best place to go for research. I got an admit there this year, as I was apprehensive about how the entrance results might turn out, and the female with whom I spoke for the telephonic interview(which is the only selection procedure) was more than surprised that I had applied for it as I am a DU grad. So, if you make it to DSE, ISI, JNU, IGIDR, GIPE, MSE, Jamia choose these over MCC anyday. :)
