How was IGIDR?

Gurpreet Pannu
I personally found the paper tough compared to the sample papers....both the level of difficulty and not enough time!!
Thoroughly unprepared and utterly confused.

I found the reasoning part easy, maths was okay but economics was tough ! I couldn't attempt a lot of economics problems. And yes the time constraint was a problem too.

How many in total did you attempt ?

According to many students who appeared last year also found it tougher. Last year cut off was 55. So it might be 50-60 this year also. Let's hope for the best.
I found distribution questions in maths a major challenge because everyone used to say that maths would be school level. But no. That's not true. There was graduate level questions as well.
Economics was quite decent.
If somebody did prepare for cat type exam before then she or he could easily handle reasoning and quant. But unfortunately I couldn't.

I attempted around 90 questions....Reasoning and maths I am still confident but economics I found tough mainly coz i had so less time to attempt it.

I heard there are individual cutoffs too.....so first you need to clear them and then your total should be as said above 55+
Thoroughly unprepared and utterly confused.

I was able to attempt 75 questions, with 18 and 19 in maths and eco. Really doubtful about these 2 sections. With online examination, I hope result is round the corner and will be out within 2 weeks

I think the result will be out in final week of may, as the discussion forum contains a post from that time period for year 2013, when online exams started. That year cutoff was 67.

@Gurpreet Pannu The sample paper you are referring to, was not a sample paper. It was explicitly written that this paper should not be considered as a sample paper or an indicator for the difficulty level of exams. The paper was provided to inform us about its format and nothing else.

Hi, did anyones exam get interupted because of the earthquake?? It happened in my centre in Kolkata and all of us were forced to evacuate the building with 20 mins left to go in the exam. After half an hour or so we were called back up and given only 10 mins to complete the rest of our exam

@Saurya We felt the earthquake but we were told to remain in our seats. Since, the earthquake lasted less than a couple of minutes, no crucial time was wasted.

Yes it even happened at my centre in delhi but our invigilators were sooo dumb bcoz they were not allowing us to evacuate the place . They were like " it happened yesterday also and nothing happened " and " we are here with you whatever will happen to u the same will happen to us too " .
My last 20 minutes were wasted too bcoz neither were they allowing us to go out of the building and nor was anyone able to concentrate bcoz of fear and the tremors

Welcome to the club :( :(
Everyone in my centre was really annoyed. Because 10 mins in an exam like IGIDR matters a lot

Not really, not all centres were evacuated during the exam and everybody in my centre lost out on time. Some people lost 20 minutes. Either ways, whats done is done.
