section 1 comprehension
first question was of reading comprehension with 4-5 paragraphs based on which there were 5 questions. then there were 3 questions on finding missing numbers in the sequence. if was a bit difficult as calculators were not allowed and numbers were large so checking the pattern of the sequence in limited time got difficult. some of the questions were: 8544, 1420, 280, ---- , 18, 5 9050, 5675, 3478, 2147, 1418, ---- then there were 2 questions where paragraph was given and 2 conclusions were given and question was asked whether the conclusions are a strong argument or weak argument. LR question was very difficult, the description was like, there are 4 children, with different ages, all are given different toys, with different colors, nothing was clear who got which toy and of what color and based on that paragraph were 5 questions none of which was doable, most of the students whom i talked to could do that question. there were 3 questions on telling whether there is an error in the sentence or not. one of the question was: In the progressive economy masses should not remain deprived from the fruits. four questions were on arranging jumble words. 4-5 questions were on arranging 5 sentences in the order they happened(based on the thing described in those sentences). section 2 economics i don't remember the exact questions, some of the topics were opportunity cost, effect of change in money supply, how would increase in saving rate affect quantity of capital goods and productivity, a question on solving third degree price discrimination, one was to solve for equilibrium quantity in a competitive industry, etc over all this section was easy and 24/30 questions were easily doable. section 3 mathematics one question was to find missing number in the sequence 62, 64, ----, 32, 14, 16 one was where data was given and we had to find standard deviation, one basic probability question(probability of taking out a white ball from the box given the no. of all other balls in the box), 2 questions of integration, 2 questions of differential equations, one of binary operation, one question of matrix operation one exact question was to integrate logx/x^5, other was integration of 1/f(x) is (logx)^2 then what is f(x), etc so overall this section was also easy and 28/40 questions were easily doable. for future aspirants i would suggest not to make wild guesses, target a total of 72-75 marks in the exam and play on your strengths like target 30/40 in maths, 22/30 in economics and 22/40 in comprehension thats how you will be able to score above 70 easily and get selected for interview because cut off is usually around 64-69 marks. All the best. |
