What exactly is the syllabus for IGIDR Mathematics optional paper? The prospectus mentions Undergraduate level Mathematics. Can anyone be more specific?
It's college level calculus and algebra. If you're thinking to attempt that I would suggest you to completely go through REAL ANALYSIS by Bartle and sherbert; and CALCULUS 1 and 2 using Linear Algebra by Apostol.
Or you may take MIT 18.01 and 18.02 to go through these same concepts and solve problems from Bartle Sherbert
Section 2 will have basic maths but advanced maths section will have some tricky questions from calculus which might consume your time but econ section is probably easier than advanced maths; IGIDR asks more questions from macroeconomics.
I'm preparing for the M. Phil/Ph.D entrance - it says Basic Maths - and I'm not quite sure what all it covers.
Does that simply mean Linear Algebra and Calculus or does one need to prepare more?
