IGIDR for sure ( if IES is what you want to pursue ) . Even as a back up you have good placement prospects.  Which company are you working for ??

@Aashna : IGIDR is a very good college. Study and placements are very good. I think you should join IGIDR after your PG if you do IES etc. that is upto you but if you return to the corporate world you will get good package & position and U will grow faster than any other UG student. Higher level of education gives you edge over other.
So you should join IGIDR. These 2 years are kind of investment for you and I am sure you will get a positive real return Still I would suggest you to choose wisely.

Bain gives a good profile in comparison to other consultancies. Leaving bain for igidr , if I were you I won't have done that ( when I am not sure about IES ) . DSE/ISI could complement this experience. BTW do you know akshat kalra,  palash n all ??

Hi, In my opinion you shouldn't, most definitely not leave bain for IGIDR. Bain comes in the big 3 of consulting as you would know, since you are working there for a while. IGIDR is very much inclined towards development economics and has good placements. You already have a good job, and until and unless you are really 100% sure about IES or Ph.d I would not recommend you going there. ISI/DSE would have been a different scenario as they offer very high placement packages and very good opportunities for higher studies. So, in case you would be unsure of pursuing IES or Ph.d. a very good placement would be offered in case you were in ISI/DSE. Just my opinion.

Bain isn't giving me a WOW pay. i am an economics graduate from Hindu (DU). Moreover i should have mentioned its Bain consulting group and not the front end Bain job.

hence i am a little confused. over 2 years my pay from IGIDR job will be more than if i continue to work in bain for 2 years.

VERY CONFUSED! :(

I am sailing in the same boat as Aashna.
I have done graduation in econimcs from Hansraj college.  (completed lst yr).  Currently i am working in ZS associates ( sales and marketing consultancy -gurgaon). Job is good but yes i feel DU students dont get that amazing profile as engineering bakcground students. Hence i am confused if i should go for igidr.
I am about 80% sure i want to come back to corporate world. Currently i use a little eco in my work hence i thought of going back to eco and gave MA exams.  I am in waiting list for IGIDR though but hoping for the best.

Please let me know your views.  Thanks so much in advance :)
