y = -1,-2,-3,-4
x = 1,2,3,4.0000001
y+x = 0,0,0,0.0000001=z

clearly y ~ -x
hence, correlation cofficent of y and x close to 1 

but we can not represent z as a linear function of x

so correlation coffient reduce



now try another example

x = y
z= y+x

imples z = 1/2 * x
so the correlation coffient between 
y and x

and

 x and z equal to 1
