I am always genuinely impressed by your positivity .... Congrats to you and others ... , you truly deserved it.

@ Preet, I exactly know how you feel .... I was very bummed out by DSE result too. Just after the paper itself, I had known that something has gone wrong. I got carried away and did more than I should have, it really sucks when something just slips out of your hand.... :(( and then to top it, I blew big time in IGIDR interview... they didnt even ask me any good stuff .. sometimes.. things just happens....

But even now I have hopes from JNU,

I could suspect something was wrong even before IGIDR/DSE results came out .,.... but if even JNU doesnt fall through and I wouldnt be able to come up with a reason for that ....  


and all this wait is driving me crazy ....

@Vasudha: Yes, even i am too impressed your positiveness. You are one of those few persons(Ram too) in this forum who doesn't come here just to solve the problems but also motivate others.. Good luck and keep it up..
As far as i am concerned, well it was expected but i am not disappointed.

@Neha- Congrats to you too!

@Vaibhav: ISI has been a fairy tale for me. WHY? Well, in march i got diagnosed with OCD-anxiety disorder and just 3-4 days after DSE exam, I also got diagnosed for Attention Deficit Disorder. Funny story but not from sufferer's point of view.. I have responded well to treatment. But, i wish if it had been caught early on then i could have been much better in these exams.. However, to see oneself come this far is itself self-motivating. I am really keen to take up academic research and this dream looks be unfulfilled unless I have a masters degree.

The fact is that I now need to see what next? Hopefully something will work out. I am hopeful too

Dont worry .... like you said .. if this much happened even after all those things, then just imagine how far things can get when time is right ... Always have faith in your abilities, its as simple as that .. now you know you are capable, then there is really nothing to worry about. If you think about this simple thing, this very simple idea ... you'll be overwhelmingly motivated.

I too am very keen for research, always have been and always have a special apatite for economic way of thinking.

After graduating as an engineer, I was placed in Ericsson, Gurgaon.. but I didnt go for it. It was 2 years ago, for past 2 years I have been involved ( in my various capacities) in research and allied activities. The first year went on a project on Communalism in UP, for which I roamed around all over UP for 8 months !!!
After that, I was offered a fellowship from SBI and for following 1 year I was working on the Topic, 'Village Institutions' in tribal areas.

All through the last year I was living in a jungle, just got back in March, after that only I seriously started preparing. I always knew I wasnt capable enough for ISI, but I was hoping for DSE. But luck has it it went bad, even while I was doing the paper, I felt like I just wasnt able to perform. During those 3 hours, I struck me that 'ability' and 'ability to perform' are two very different thing and both are necessary.

Anyways, I have already taken admission  in MSE, and I am prepared .. whatever happens.... I'll try my best for a doctorate from a reputed place. This is something very dear to me, and I really hope I get to do it ..... ...my precious :))))

JNU is well known for taking out results very late.one of my friends gave exam for M.Sc environmental science in d month of april 2012 and still he is waiting for results.......so sick of it
