Is DSE good for Ph.D. purpose?

Hello friends,

This is my first post here.

I am very weak at maths but good at econ, so am afraid of ISI. But I want to have Ph.D. degree from good US univ. If I manage to enter DSE masters, will I be able to have Ph.D. from good US Univ? I have been asking my friends and they all say that if you can be at top  10 in your DSE class, then u can enter some top US PHD program. Are they true?

I m really nervous to find that I can't crack ISI MSQE but want to  give up my dream of having reputable  Ph.D.

Please help me! I will be obliged.

Isi is the place for you.
though if you make it to dse. You can still get admission in some good phd programmes in US. But you have to make an impression on teachers there. As your admission depends significantly on their recommendations. Which can be difficult in dse as there are many students in class.
in isi there is really good faculty. And they know you well. Because of small class size. So they write some good recommendations about you.
