Question 24 plz help isi 2007 pea 1...is ans c or d ?

I am getting (d) but sir has mentioned it to be c.However since r^2 is 1 so r can be 1 or -1
So y can be positively or negatively linear in x^2
so a and b can be any real number I guess.
What is the ans acc to you?
