The placements of SIS are quite good . SSS placements are not good.

And how is eco from SSS valued in terms of a getting admission in a PhD abroad? I've heard it's got really less math and stats!!?? And how is it viewed generally by the employers if one seeks off campus jobs?

SSS is mainly theory . The whole two years you will learn about capitalism and marxism. Off campus placements are not good as the subject is not practical (does not use maths/stats). Prefer SIS over SSS.
And if you have all 4 choices
1.SIS
2. MSE
3. SSS/GIPE

Hi nupur !
Yes SSS has got less math and stats , but that does not reduce your chances of getting a PhD from abroad. JNU degree has a worldwide recognition and its recommendations have great value . So if you wish to proceed in research , its a good platform.

See it entirely depends upon your interest . Just go through their course structure , and then decide what suits you the best . Both institutes are quite well known , so I believe recommendations should not be an issue.
I believe both of them are equally good in terms of research ( except for the fact that JNU has better foreign alliances ) , but yes , if you are looking for direct placements after post grad , SSS may not satisfy your requirements.

I agree with Sonia . For research , JNU is quite a brand abroad . I guess that would help you in fetching a doctorate abroad.

Yeah I guess JNU is more about research and academics . So people who are interested in RnD or doc/postdoc , usually go for JNU , because of its esteemed position worldwide and foreign collaborations.

CDS course structure is quite good plus it has a JNU degree - so yes , a thumbs up for research . But again , placements will be an issue there.
