yes a.m, they changed the pattern this year. but don't worry. take a year off, get hold of the basic textbooks used in delhi university, and give it a shot again :)
see i'm doing economics honours from du and yet i'll barely, if at all, clear the cut-off. only a fraction of the aspirants will get selected, but that doesn't mean the others r not gonna do anything good with their lives.. :)

hey, I like your reply !!!

As much as I'd like to take your word for it, sir, allow me to play devil's advocate and ask you a pertinent question: what's the source of this incredible information?

Since JNU result will come after DSE and probably IGIDR. So, you add 90-95 students here and  15-20 from ISI and you get 120 top students who won't take admissions into JNU SSS. And add 10 more for JNU SIS. So, to fill another 35 seats in General category, the cut -off can or should go lower or they will have to come out with waiting lists to fill remaining seats. What you guys think?

@lovekesh
yes u r right.....35 more seats will be added

and thr s 1 more thing that last time i mean in 2011 only 3 out of 30 resrvd seats of OBC were filled ...just bcz the cutoff for OBC candt is 10 marks less than general cut off....and only 3 cadidt fullfild tht critria,,,,,,

so remaing 27 seat were allotd to general students,,,,,,,

@ Lovekesh  @ Bisht

As you said the top 100-120 students will prefer isi/dse/igidr over jnu if selected in both.
so , how do you rate the above colleges on the basis of placements and higher studies ( phd , universities abroad )

Hey did any of you apply at Gokhale Institute of Pol Eco? That's the first institute which releases its results - 20th June! Honestly, I think its their tactic to get money from candidates who believe in "a bird in hand>2 in the bush" ... They've actually mentioned their refund policy in their brochure!! So whoever clears GIPE books their seat and if they get a better institute like DSE/ISI/IGIDR/JNU, they cancel their admission and GIPE pockets the "prudence" money...

hey,
what about IGIDR?

Do share some info about IGIDR, their website isnt of much help. I tried to make a perspective about the institute, and based on the website all I got is the course emphasis heavily on financial economics sortof .. even all the recruiters are either banks or financial consultancy firms....

This is one thing that is putting me off about IGIDR, I dont wanna do some MBA in finance kinda course .. I want to study core economice.. but then again I keep hearing these contradictory things about IGIDR, some where I heard, its curriculum is outdated...   .. but then I heard that it relies heavily on research...
one thing I got for sure is that it boast of state of the art campus, but other than that I cant make a definitive picture ... I mean as compared to lets say JNU... if one wanna go for higher studies .. what would one choose ??
