i might be very late and seem to be stupid in asking this quest. at this time, but could u pls temme, how u solve these quest. of producer and consumer surplus9-like q1 of sis 2012-.. i mean is it by drawing supply and demand graphs and then calculating areas under the curves or is there any short way out.. coz i tried doing through the diagram , but it takes me a lot of time to do such type of a simple quest. and i often end up doing mistakes... pls help

Qs = 3(p+5/3) - 5 = 3p
Qd = 10 - 2p

Qs = Qd
p = 2

Qd = 6 = Qs

govt spends (5/3) x 6 = 10

extra units = 7 - 2 = 5
price = 4

cost to govt = 5*4 = 20
