Re: MSE

I think we are eligible. The reasons are as furnished below

http://www.ies.gov.in/myaccount-profile-view.php?memid=339
What is pasted above is the profile of an officer currently in IES which is available in the official portal of Indian Economic Service. This officer did his postgraduation in Dairy Economics (MSc Dairy Economics), and still got into IES. While the UPSC website says that  A candidate for the Indian Economic
Service must have obtained a post
Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied
Economics/ Business Economics/
Econometrics.
So, if Dairy Economics is an acceptable qualification, MSc Environmental and Actuarial Economics should also be acceptable. But, I am not sure about Applied Quantitative Finance as it does not carry the word 'Economics'.

EA Ibrahim, are you from Madras? Also do you have any idea whether mse will come with a merit list or not?? Also do you have any idea that if there 50 seats each in general and financial economics at MSE then why are there only about 30-35 people enrolled in them in the last batch? Does that mean the seats remain vacant?

@Nupur
I am not from Madras, but from Ernakulam, Kerala. MSE came with a merit list last year. There were separate merit list for all the courses. The names and marks were given on the rank-based order. But, I am not sure whether they will bring it out this year. Also, I remember that they have brought out the merit list before counselling last year.
The seats remained vacant as many candidates who registered themselves with MSE deserted it for better institutes. I think there is some foul play in not preparing the merit list this time. That they have given out another notification for those who could not apply for CUCET strengthens my suspicions.

What notification is it that you're talking about? Is there a link to it? Can you share it? Is it on their website?

I said about the MSE merit list for 2013 admissions (last year). I used to follow the website even last year to keep a watch over cut-off marks. They have deleted the merit list from the website soon after admission process was over. Unfortunately, I haven't saved it for me to post it here.
