Macroeconomics books

Mohit Agrawal
Hi, I am mohit from IIT BHU next year I am thinking of applying for masters in economics from ISI D or IGIDR.

I have one query for the macroeconomics there are two books by Mankiw 1) Principles of Macro-economics
2 ) Macroeconomics . I don't know which one is better
and on the forum and help document you prepared you listed book: Macro Economics by Rudiger Dornbusch, Stanley Fischer.

Considering I am  don't have background in economics but I am strong in mathematics which would be the best book for me.

Re: Macroeconomics books

Economics student
Oyye Mohit!

Hi

You should do Macroeconomics by Mankiw. It has excellent foundations for basic theory of macroeconomics. You can start with it considering you don't have economics background.
But, for ISI specially, you will need to dig a little deeper, so have a look at either Macroeconomics by Blanchard or Macroeconomic Theory and Policy by Willian H Branson in addition to Mankiw. They will give you a more sophisticated presentation of UG-level topics.
