Min/max

If a function does not have any stationary points does it imply it has no local max or local min?

No. for instance, the fn y= |x| does not have stationary points but still it has a point of local minima( at 0).

we have local max/min at critical points, i.e., at stationary points or at points where the derivative doesn't exist. here, we are calling '0' as the point of local minima as the fn is not differentiable at the point, and it's possible for a local min/max to be a point of global min/max.
