Re: Mphil JNU Queries

Ayushya Kaul
I wanted to revise some answers:

Are you sure about 36?

Also 40 should be d.
and even 41.

The game has no pure strategy NE and the only NE will be a mixed strategy profile which would involve 'random' checks or perfoming checks with a certain probability.

It's okay let's at least share the answers and then we can move forward.
Do check out the other threads I've opened for papers for other years.

X+Y and X-Y are not independent.
Since E(X^2-Y^2) or E[(X+Y)(X-Y)] =/ E(X+Y).E(X-Y)

Also, Cov (X+Y, X-Y)= Var (x) - Var (Y).

Thus, b is the best option.

here , i have a doubt!
in your answers the two variances and mean are different . shouldnt it be equal?
so that makes 16th b .??

Re: Mphil JNU Queries

Ayushya Kaul

They aren't. They're iid but two different variables and hence they won't have the same mean or variance.

But if you see the options , then its kinda confusing. they have said they are normally distributed iids with mean and variance .

Sir , could you please  see  these questions for us . Since people are busy solving the M.A papers there are a few enthusiasts for M.Phil.

All of them concern Econometrics.

Q 16 , 17 and Q 19.

Your response would be of great help Sir :)
