better for what?... no one in the world can tell you the exact right answer to your question... even if you define what "best" is

Better in terms of:
1. Can go anywhere, but preferring North India only

3. Curriculum

Re: Mse vs. Jnu

everybody here parrots about mse corporate placements

I believe JNU SIS would give you better opportunities(like if you want to make a difference and want to join ImF , world bank, think tanks , ngos etc)

Many people here say MSE course is not that knowledge enriching.... Although i personally have no direct knowledge about this issue.. I still think SIS course would be veryy good (SIS people also have option of taking additional courses from SSS for extra credit , ive seen somewhere on this site only about this)

So , if you ONLY want a corporate placement directly after your masters then MSE should be preferred IMO.... otherwise.. SIS....

Now SSS vs MSE is not comparable directly... sss is very theoretical and research oriented.... while MSE offers applied eco.... it depends from individuals to individual which course would suit them.

(Remember that i am also giving exams first time this year and all my "opinions" are based on posts ive read here only )
hope i gave you some clarity

Thanks
Yes, I was too wondering that just 2-3 total colleges actually provide placement which is much required
Does jnu doesn't provide placement at all?

if you have a mild preference to north india also , adjusting in Chennai is a very difficult task if you're a north indian...  There's a major language barrier , i've heard hostel is not great , food especially and if placements is the only thing one wants.. then MSE to be preferred. JNU is anyday better in terms of its course structure and research prospects , also heard getting a job by applying individually outside is easy with avg. of 9.5 L p.a. because of its good reputation... this is all i know
