I am in a bit of a dilemma and could really use some feedback - I cleared Jadavpur ka first list and got rank 33 in hyd university. Both have counselling on 11th June...Which is a better institution in terms of prospects? I will add that i am not particularly keen on becoming a professor or going into academics - perhaps will give the IES later but thats about it.
Hi tsuki!
Firstly i really have NO idea about hyderabad university. I did not take this exam neither did any of my friends. I know about jadavpur university though. Masters in Pure economics is taught here. Jadavpur university is famous for its frequent internal exams. So it will always ask you to be glued to your books and syllabus, which is a good thing i suppose. Faculty is undoubtedly excellent. Placements also take place here. Lastly if you want to go for IES in future, jadavpur will immensely help you as its syllabus is at par. In 2012 or in 2011 i dont exactly remember but jadavpur produced the topper in IES exam. You can look up in net about her.
Good luck!

Thank you Vandita! I admit Jadavpur offers an additional advantage (20 mins auto ride from home) vs Hyderabad (another state altogether)-lets see, will brainstorm a bit more.. :)
Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated :)
@Kangkan- lol, not scared of hot weather
@C10- I dont know actually..are there any particular exams for that?
Akshay, in what sense would you consider Jadavpur? I am more keen on working after masters (pvt sector) or perhaps IES. Upar sei, I am uncertain about Hyd Uni because rank is 33 and general seats are 30 :'(
