the answer is c=(a+b)/2.

Hi Sonia..i think the answer is incomplete.. i am assuming A,B,C are real...then changing the value of C will only shift the curve up or down.If the property f(a)=f(b) was there ,it will still hold.Hence ,an unique C is not implied by f(a)=f(b) in case of a real quadratic function..thats my take
