Re: Query

Terms of trade(TOT)
= agricultural prices/industry prices

In 1990-91
TOT= 200/150=1.333

In 1991-92
TOT=215/165=1.303

Since the value has reduced, so the terms of trade have moved in favour of industry.

Terms of trade of x wrt y is relative price of x wrt y. if the cost of agricultural goods in terms of industrial goods goes up, one might say the terms of trade have shifted in favor of agricultural products.

Here they have gone from 4/3 = 1.33 to 1.303
Thus, moved in favour of industry. Is this correct?
