I wish to pursue PhD in Financial Economics. I am currently being offered admission in IGIDR and SNU. which one would turn out to be better for PhD? Any help shall be highly appreciated. Thanks
Just look at the faculty of both institutes, SNU have more qualified teachers as compared to IGIDR, also their focus is completely on research rather than on placements with monthly stipend. Reputation wise IGIDR tops SNU but logically I think SNU would be a better choice.
P.S. I am not a student of any of these institutes but after joining GIPE I came to know about SNU, it looked really good to me.
bt Confusion still persists because i had a look at the course curriculum of both the universities. SNU offers a great deal of subjects relating to Finance and Financial Research whereas IGIDR too offers similar subjects bt SNU may outweigh IGIDR. Whereas Placements is important aspect in which IGIDR is definitely better... so Confusion persists. :(
