Statistical Model-Interesting

kangkan
This is just a fanciful problem that came to my mind..dnt knw how to solve it..so would appreciate help

In country A,there are exactly 500 males and 500 females in 1995.Thier age distribution is a normal one with mean =40 and sigma =4. Assume all males and females of age>20 are married. The fertility rates is also a normal distribution with mean=2 and sigma =3....each child born is as likely to be male or female. But the probability of a femae foetus dying just after birth is c. (all male foestus live as per the age distribution). In 2005 ,the sex ratio in the country was 0.47(900 females per 1000 males).Estimate c  (i dont know if the information given is enough,we can make assumptions of pdf when required)

In such cases Logit or Probit models are used...especially when there the variable is dichotomous...not sure, but I think these types of models can be used to infer about the stated problem..!!!!
