Study Guide Modification

This post was updated on .
http://economicsentrance.weebly.com/uploads/1/1/0/5/1105777/study_guide.pdf

the following additions are there
1. It wud be better if u do ecotix from gujarati till chapter 13 as I found 2-3 questions in previous years based on chapters of heteroscekasticity and model specification
2. there are some development economics related topics like Gini coefficient, lorenz curves, Harrod domer model, lewis model, AK model etc..for these u can refer to Debraj Ray's Development Economics or Economic Development by Todaro and Smith (I find both are equally good)
3. For understanding topics in International economics with the use of numbers I think International economics by dominick salvatore better than that of krugman's but read that book which you find comfortable.
4. For game theory read 2-4 chapters of Introduction to game theory by Martin J. Osborne
here is the PDF Osborne,_An_Introduction_to_Game_Theory.pdf
5. there is a question in 2013 related to linear algebra......For these kind of topics I am attaching PDfs (Most of these are already covered in scul and undergrad)
01-Linear-Equations.pdf  (skip 1.3,1.4,1.5)
02-Matrix-Operations.pdf
spaces_and_linear_transformations.pdf

From dse point of view, u shud focus on mundell fleming models and interest parity conditions....like the 1 dat is asked in 2012 ppr.....so if u hav salvatore, u can easily fig out from index what chapters u shud do....
still if u find any difficulty...just post here...

Salvatore chapters for DSE
chap-15....PPP, interest parity and dornbusch overshooting model (leave appendix)
chap-16...ML condition and J curve with appendix
chap-17...Income determination, import function and foreign trade multipliers
chap-18...expenditure changing and switching policies, IS-LM-BP model with fixed and flexible exchange rates
(also refer International finance by maurice levi for IS-LM-BP model as mentioned in study guide for more clarification)
chap-19 AD-AS in open economy and policy
note that these are strictly optional........the neccessary ones are already mentioned in study guide

u shud also no how to derive the ML condition ,i.e, elasticities of exports and imports w.r.t. exchange rates whether foreign/domestic or domestic/foreign.
