A friend of mine, who is currently in IGIDR, has this to say: "IGIDR is a great place for both research and placements. It's classroom size is quite small and therefore student teacher interaction is quite often. Faculty here are brilliant and give you a lot of time. Apart from it IGIDR has RBI governor as its chairman thus every summer 5 of its high scoring students go for an internship at RBI. You can get involved in projects related to finance or development, depending upon your interests during your M.Sc if you can take out some time. Apart from this the campus is beautiful and gives a lot of sports facilities. Placements here are 100 percent. To give you an idea, most of the students get placed as data analysts and this year 7 of the 22 students got a salary package of 14 lpa. Companies who hire here are PWC, ICICI, fractal, delloite, Crisil, HSBC, Janlakshmi microfinance institution etc. 5 of the 6 students who applied abroad for PHd got through. 3 of them are going to US and 2 to Europe."
