UOH admissions

phelps.phan
Guys who are selected pls let me know if you are aware of the selection process on 8th June.
1) The prospectus says intake is 60 but the selected list for counselling has more than 150. Are they going to filter out the people on first come basis?
2)If we want to cancel the admission in the near future, will they provide the certificates back immediately?

Thanks

Dude, whats on 8th of june? They have called for counselling on 11th june - please dont give me a heart attack

Everyone is supposed to report at 2 pm - the one with the higher ranks will get admission (so if there are 60 seats and suppose all the 60 top rankers turn up, the candidates who had a rank over 60 wont be given admission on counselling)

As for returning the documents, there was another discussion on this in the forum - one of the girls called up the office - they said the originals will be returned within a week of the withdrawal application.

Not everyone will get admission. There are a total of 60 seats. In the general category, first 30 (50%) will get admission. In the OBC category first 16(27%), SC category first 9 (15%) , ST category first 5 (7.5%) will be granted admission. No need to worry. There will be a large number of people not coming for admissions. Because, MSE results will be out by then. They say it will come tomorrow.

No need to worry. I saw some people whose name figures in the list of SAU and IGIDR, who ranked between 1 and 32 in UOH merit list. Plus, MSE and CDS results will be out by then. Possibly, your name too figure in those lists. You may not even go to UOH for counselling.

Tsuki, are you very keen on UoH? I mean you would prefer MSE, GIPE, CDS over it, right?

Last year, they put the results within two weeks. This year, we can expect some delay due to the descriptive nature of some questions. But, even last year answers were valuated manually and not by OMR machine. Anyhow, we can expect it before June 10. Maybe, early next week.

CDS results will be out between 15th and 20th June only. I mailed one of the program co-ordinators and he replied so.

helloo guys...I'm in a dilemma to go for admissions all the way from kolkata, because I'm not sure if UOH is comparatively better and I'm not in the top 30 of the list either..people from Delhi/kolkata are you going for the counselling?

Hi! I had a word with the current placement coordinator at UOH. She said placements are close to zero and they are trying hard to get companies to campus this year! So if you value placements then you know the scene out there! But what she told me is that course is good and the faculty is good too. And about their alumni what I could find out was that a girl is doing a PhD from UK (I guess from Sussex) and Alex Thomas who is doing his PhD from Australia. I hope this can be of some help to you in making a decision. Personally, I have decided to not attend. (This is when my rank in UoH is under 30 and I haven't yet made the cut anywhere else!!)

I've heard similar stories. If you are concerned about both academics and placements UOH won't be a great place. But I've heard its a good place for academics. Btw Alex Thomas was a brilliant economics student even before attending UOH, I doubt the university made the difference. Good luck!

Hello. For the admissions for 14-15, it seems that the online application page is not responding. Am I the only one with this problem?

Have you guys managed to apply online?
If so, please redirect me to the webpage.

Thanks
