guys  i need some help. I have done eco hons. and am currently dnd m.a development studies from ambedkar. If i leave it this year, i will get diploma. If i complete it , i w\can take my masters and apply fr m.a eco and all next yr.

I have taken admission in applied quantitative finance.. and m rly cnfsd wether to cntnue wth dev studies and apply fr m.a eco next yr or to take admission in mse this year. i dont have any prob with going to chennai but i am not sure whr my int lies...finance or eco..
I know this is  a long post, but pls help if u can..pls

hi smriti..i think nobody can tell u what u r interested in..if interest is what is guiding ur decision then u shud try to find out more about both disciplines and then ask urself which of them appeals to u more. if placements r the deciding factor then u shud find out about the placements at MSE and decide if they r good enough (u hv to think about what ur chances of selection in another university next year r- again something only u can tell). don't worry, something good will come out of all this at the end. all the best.

@vasudha..Thansk a lot..since i have never studied a proper subject on finance , that's why i really dont know what finance consists of..And i talked to one of my frnd. she said to know your interest, you will have to read many books on various subjects, which you should do this year along with dev studies (bcz i rly dont am not into reading )..so I rly dont know what to do

and yes one more thng..u took coaching frm smwhr..?
I scored well at my eco level bt dont have die hard interest in eco...u think still i can go for m.a eco..i think this gap is mainly due to the gap b/w my books and linking it with whats around (again thanks to my habit of not reading )

no i didn't take coaching.
going beyond the textbooks is of course gr8 but i doubt if it's required for the narrow purpose of clearing these entrances..for that u need to be thorough with the concepts and u need to practise lots of questions..oh, and u need good luck. r u enjoying MA in development studies or not? and y do u think joining MSE is not a good idea? is it bcoz MSE is not good enough or bcoz u want to try again for other universities next year?

And es saal agar jnu bhi ni hua..toh is it something like ki d-school ka next year socha bhi ni jaa sakta..?
Bcz i am a slow learner...bcz finance ki line can be taken up after m.a eco also ...
i AM TRYING TO GO THROUGH THE COURSE STRUCTURE OF aqf ..BUT 3RD 4TH SEM subjetcs are totally new...so have no idea if i will like them or not

hmm..this is a very confusing situation. how about u take up aqf right now and try for MA eco next yr. if by chance u dont get thru u continue with aqf.

hi...i actly faced da same dilemma although i had to choose betwn whether research is my cup of tea or i wnt to earn money i cleared mse in msc financial eco nd jnu ma eco ......whn i went to counsellor she tld me wts my interest nd frankly i dnt knw my interest but im not so passionate abt eco i went fr da moolah ..nd trust me on dis mse givs among da best placements but finance is nt an easy thng u hv to keep up wid da current markets nd business environment newaz if u wnt research u shud wait an year nd try for dse,igidr,isi or jnu....nd egarding placements dis year a guy doin msc general eco nd anodr doin financial eco got 17 lac p.a as da highest i dnt knw abt aqf u cn ask ny aqf guy but ultimately choice is urs

@rahul....ya..that's waht...ab how wl someone knw they have int in finance or not....havent studied any finance related subject as of now....

didnt u study money and financial mrkts in ug its da basic later finance will develop on dt nd i think its nt abt stdyng bt learning i didnt know multiplication whn i ws in kg but i learned it by 12th nd i think u cn easily manage nythng
