simple (non‐programmable, non-alpha-numeric memory) calculator.

Can someone please tell me if fx-82MS falls in the above category?

I think fx-82MS is non-programmable. I'm not sure about the alpha-numeric bit.

Anyway I really doubt that they allow any scientific calculators, considering they once had a question comparing pi^e and e^pi. I think the safest bet is to carry whatever you have and then asking the invigilator.

lekin tab, calculators were not even allowed in the exam. I think its only this year that they have allowed it.

There was confusion regarding this last year as well. Although, this year the admit cards say that they are allowed.

I suppose by alphanumeric memory they mean calculators in which data can be saved to a particular alphabet, and I think most scientific calculators have this function. Just carry a simple calculator and a scientific one as well.

I dont think the invigilator checks the calculator so more or less if you're smart enough take which ever cal you feel like, in my case I cant handle a cal if it gets complicated :D my options are limited!

lolz..

This time it was mentioned in the admit card that non programmable calculators are allowed so I ignored questions of the aforementioned nature.

But Option B question paper said "no calculators allowed" and the very first question was the one pointed by u: compare pi^e and e^pi. It immediately reminded me of u. I tried approximating using log, but was unsuccessful. (the 2 values are so goddamn close :(

Ah.. That must have been quite annoying. I used some dodgy backward working technique to get an answer to that one after I posted the other day.

For Option A, the paper said something like calculators are not required, but you can use a simple one.
And then there was a question that asked to express 0.272727... as a fraction :/ I know that almost everyone can answer that even without a calculator, but that is pretty much free marks right there if you happen to have one on you.
