A 95% confidence interval estimate for a population mean was computed to be (44.8 to 50.2). Determine the mean of the sample, which was used to determine the interval estimate.

The 95% confidence interval for population mean is given by (mean of sample - 1.96*SD, mean of sample + 1.96*SD) use the given interval to find mean of sample!

Mean of sample + 1.96*SD = 50.2
Mean of sample - 1.96*SD = 44.8
Add both the equations, 2*mean of sample = 95
 Sample mean = 47.5
