How are the placements in GIPE? and in terms of getting placed Msc financial economics or MSc Eco is a better option?

The course of finance have been recently started in Gipe. In terms of campus placement, Finance is better than Economics. But off campus placement and market credibility of MA Economics is much higher.
MA Finance students have direct competition with MBA students(which are huge in numbers), whereas MA Economics students have competition for jobs with Economics students (comparatively less competition here)

If you get option between the two, my advice would be to opt for MA Economics.

As far as I've heard from my seniors, placements are decent. Genpact recruits in large numbers. A few banks also visit, like HSBC and HDFC. Many from Financial and General get placed, though the placements for Agri aren't great. Finance and General are almost at par, sometimes one does better, sometimes the other.
