haha "amazing" my bad but it sure would be a thrill ride...my interview for delhi is lined up and hence I was looking for some motivation.

Cool are u doing any econometrics for the interview ? Or concentrating only micro,macro and stats?also are u from du ?

Yup how did it go ? And also onion knight do u think practicing micro and stats will suffice or do we have to do macro as well ?? Do they ask questions from stats ?

They might ask problems on Statistics, I'm not sure. I'm only practicing Micro right now, the math questions tend to be a little harder. Macro is very unlikely.

It went pretty shitty. I was asked a problem on revealed preference. The other option was a maths problem on some sort of a series (it was a weird sum, that we had to show was less than 2^n or something, essentially not straightforward ArithmeticoGeometric Series even. tn was also coming very weird, so I tried the revealed preference one)

The economics question was also quite involved. It had 4 sub parts, and those kept getting increasingly complex. Essentially it was a thorough work-out on revealed preference.

We were asked a problem with a normal wage scheme and a wage+subsidy scheme and were supposed to draw the budget line etc. The problem was similar in difficulty to those in Varian's workbook. Glad it's over, let's wait for the results now!

When do results come out ?also did u answer all ? Did they mention about ISi Kolkata to u also ??

 I got stuck for a while in the last part. They did tell us about ISI Kolkata. About the results, I don't really know. How was your interview?

I feel our performance in the written test will have a large role to play in determining our fate. This was just one question and the test was definitely way tougher overall.

What were you told about ISI Kolkata?

This time I heard that those who qualify the interview at ISI Delhi but, due to seats limitation, can't be offered admission at Delhi, will be offered the option of going to Kolkata and that's why Kolkata list haven't come out yet, which generally comes within three days of interview. I hope this shouldn't screw up Kolkata students' admission.

Yes, that is correct. As far as I could understand, the reason 47 (instead of 63ish people last year) were called for the interviews at ISI D is because there seems to be a capacity constraint at the Delhi campus this year. Last year 27 people got admission offer, I am guessing 20ish people from the ISI D interviews will get offer from the Delhi campus, and 6/7 people will be sent to ISI K.

My interview panel prof said this, just after I sat down for the interview - "There may be three outcomes from today. 1. You get an admit at the Delhi Campus, 2. You get an admit from the Kolkata campus, which means ONLY that there is a capacity constraint here, and NOTHING else, 3. You get no admit."

One of the professors from the panel came to the room we were all seated in before we started off. He said that if you clear the cut off for ISI-Delhi, you're in. If you fall short by a small margin but we still think you've got potential, we might give you an offer for ISI-K.
