manisha sachdeva
a student must choose one of the subjects-phsyics,chemistry and maths.
she is equally likely to choose physics or chemistry and twice as likely to choose maths.
the probability that the students choose maths is?

how do we solve this ques

let probability of choosing physics be x

prob(chemistry) = x and prob(math) = 2x

so x+x+2x = 1
=> 4x = 1

so prob(math) = 1/2
