regression/correlation for ISI

In the maths section there could be 1-2 problems on correlation and regression. Could anyone tell me a reference for studying basic correlation/regression that'd help me crack those problems?

The answer is d. I couldn't find any proof for arbitrary and b but it's not hard to see once you plug in some random values of a and b. For instance, let a=-5 and b=1.

I am studying from S.C Gupta which is decent but clearly it is not meant for concept building but the entrance type studying which i guess is what you're looking for considering time is of the essence.

Thank you. I do have a copy of Freund which is pretty decent for concept building, but like you said, that's not what I'm looking for atm. I'll try to get a copy of this book.

Anyone have a pdf of SC Gupta ? (I know it's very unlikely)

can someone please suggest a good online source for studying regression/correlation/covariance and all related topics.

I have not found any comprehensive source and have had to study bit and pieces from different sources.
