gauri
a rv X takes values -2,0,1,4 with prob of 0.4, 0.1,0.3,0.2 resp.
then what is true ?

- unique median of the distn. is 1
-unique median of the distn. is 0
-unique median of the distn. is between 0 and 1.
-the distribution has multiple medians ???

Gauri, look at the definition of the median carefully. m is a median of the distribution of X if prob(X>=m)>=0.5 and prob(X=<m)>=0.5
