suggest books, syllabus or any reference

Being from an engineering background i don't have much exposure to economics, can please anyone suggest me books, detailed syllabus and some other reference for DSE and JNU exam. My basics in economics is good and math is good but don't have much idea from where to read. pls help, i m just new to this website.
