Please think carefully before choosing JNU over IGIDR because JNU is a left bastion especially the ma eco offered by SSS. The placement situation is not good either and if you want to know the state of affairs , you can go to jnu centre for economic studies and planning website (this is the centre which offers the ma eco course) . Their website has not been updated for years. The syllabus is not there, the course structure is also old and nobody can assure whether the same papers will be taught and many of the teachers whose names have been mentioned against the course have either retired or are on leave from the department sitting in the planning commission! And most importantly,some of the teachers in jnu value their economic ideologies more than mainstream economic theories.
