@sinistral now i am confused regarding the interpretation of the question. everyone has rejected the case MF but this is what is stuck in my mind.

If the postman receives the first letter from a female he will immediately go and deliver it. but in case the first letter is from a man he will not deliver it and wait for the next letter to come; which if is from a female would be delivered first.

therefore the no. of ways postman can have the letters is MF, FM, FF.

the editor will definitely have it in FM, FF way. But it is the postman who is to deliver and from that prespective the probability is 1/3.
