@gayyam...what books are you following for Macro and econometrics?..they have prescribed almost harmless econometrics for us but i am noty able to make any head or tail of what i need to cover from it :(

Gayyam and Kangkan : from a source of mine this is what i came to know about Grade - B is that it is equivalent to a Manager's Post , a person can be posted or assigned any of the various depts. of RBI like currency,supervision of banks,et al..

Also,afaik Grade B is the highest post in which a non-eco background person can join RBI since other higher posts have a pre-requisite of an Eco degree(PG).

Above all,RBI is a class apart to work with.

ISI is great! There's good peer and great faculty. However, that's also what makes it tough! The people here are so smart. Sometimes I wonder if I'm really up to it.

Nothing much bro,the pretty good old monotonous route habitat to office and vice versa

Some of the teachers are good and some very boring.....the ecotrix guy is from MIT and is quite gud..so is the guy who teaches experimental economics..but the indian economy and stats teacher are bad..the stats teacher especially so...everyting else is alright..food is very cheap ..  :)

Gayyam...how is hostel accommodation? single or double and what are facilities?

Hey! Sorry I read this just now.

Hostel accommodation isn't all that great. There was supposed to be a new hostel; however, it was declared unfit for allocation. So, now people are crammed into rooms meant for one. I have it slightly better because I'm put up in a flat in the staff quarters. That comes with its own price though. I (and my room-mates) live physically far away from the hostel, and most of our batch mates.
