Aren't GIPE results supposed to be out today?

My rank is 44 in gipe, Can u tell which course is better general / Financial for job purpose as well as opportunity purpose...thanks it sound good to hear there is good placement how many percentage people get through placement....

@imraj go for financial(you wont regret this decision)

see the percentage was 50-60% (far less than last time) for financial & general. But good students generally get placements.

How would you rank each ma course as per the past record of the placements in gipe .

Dont see the past placements , after doing masters from GIPE you can easily land up in a 4-7lpa job yourself. (I mean without placements)

If you want to know about the placements
in agri almost all students get placed , but it should be your last choice if you dont like DTE /Indian Agriculture/policy making etc (for me it is the most interesting one !)
the package offered is 3.5-7 or even 8 ( recruiters -CRISIL, ZS Assosiates , HCL etc)

for general & Fin , highest packages are offered (5-13 lacs) by JP Morgan, Delloite , Genpact etc

Dont see the high fees of Fin , it includes certain certifications like advance excel , R , SPSS , NISM exams (which you dont have to pay extra)

International Economics is a new course & started last year.

This is the placement part.

students also take up CFA + Fin eco & that is also a deadly combination, if you have an interest in Finance.

@AmyDunne if you want to study further you can do anything according to your research interests.

If you want a job after your master's , i would say go for financial , it is a safe stream  coz if you dont get placed , you can easily find a job yourself.

+ The course structure & the additional courses with Fin are also beneficial

If you are really interested in core economics , macro economic models etc go for general.

if you dont have any problems with chennai's weather and food go to MSE for Financial
see it depends on your luck last time it was offered till 146.

See international is also a good course. If you dont get MSE /ISI/JNU/SNU/DSE , then take it.

I GET CALL LETTER TODAY FOR FIANCIAL ECO. FEE IS AROUND 150000.. SHOULD I SECURE MY SEAT IN GOKHLE IF I DO SO I HAVE TO LOSE 10% OF TOTAL FEE... MY RANK IS IN 50s IN MADRAS SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS... I DONT KNOW WHAT WOULD I GET THERE... SHOULD I SECURE ATLEAST MY SEAT HERE BECAUSE COUNCILING IS ON 11th july... I CAN TAKE ADMISSION ONLY TILL 29th IN GIPE...
