How will we do Q34, 46, 47, 48, 57, 58, 60

FOR QUESTION NO. 34
step1: find that value in f's domain where here the function attains value of 8
keeping f(x)=8
and solving for x we get x = 1.
step2: find the derivative of f at this point.. i.e 1
f'(1)=26
step3: the derivates of inverse functions are reciprocals of each other
so g'(8)= 1/f'(1)
hence the ans is 1/26

hey arushi and bhavya..can you help with  42 and 43... the budget line is straight and it seems,the indiffrence curve is also a straight line...hence it shud be a border solution..but unable to get any matching ans.....also for 12 and 13..for 12 i am solving it as a cournot equilibrim,but after doing all the crazy algebra, i am not getting the ans...can you please upload the working..thanks :)

Hi..Akshay..can you help with 42..it seems the lady will consume only
in period 1 or 2(since her indiff curve ) is a straight line..but to
consume 1/2 unit in period 1,she has to give 0.5(1+r) in period 2..but
her income is 1..so r must be 1..bt it aint one of the options..where
m i going wrong?..also for 12, solved it as cournot equilibrium ..bu
the ans i am getting is way off mark :(

Hi..for 36..the middle class will consume the bundle only if utility of bundle>= utility of basic good
 =>w1-p-c>= v1- p =>w1-v1>c..but it is given that w1-v1<c..so midl will consume basic good...now for the rich same condition applies w2-p-c>v2-p =>w2-v2>c..but this is given..hence the rich will always consume the bundle

now for 37..the CS of the midl consumer v1-p..they can charge till its zero hence p=v1....for the rich,their consumer surplus is w2-c-p..they can charge till its zero..hence p= w2-c.. :)

and for 48.... if i take the regressor variable to be log(p/1000)=log P-3...since the it is just a change of base for the explanatory variable,the regressio coefficients must not change..i think
