If I had faced this ques for the first time i would have also marked D
But I think this is so because since the fn is differentiable it is continuous too and the C is a wider option including both x=1 and x=3

Because what holds for x^2 may not hold for any other function you take. The problem is solved by applying Rolle's theorem to g'(x).

I have done this through lagrange interpolation formula ..... check out online .... its esy from that method
