Econometrics for DSE

Can anybody help me out with the required reading for econometrics. I am leaning towards reading only Dougherty, and possibly not all of it. Is that okay or does someone have a better recommendation?

I'm only looking to do the bare minimum required reading at this point. I would appreciate it of someone from DU could help me out here. I aim to cover the syllabus of the the Introductory Econometrics course. I don't want to even look at the syllabus of the Applied Econometrics course. That seems advanced considering the questions in the previous papers (and I hate panel data models).

Get hand of the book by Gujarati. And do the first 11 chapters. That should do, I guess.

I think you should go for Essentials of Econometrics by Gujarati. It explains everything in a very precise and lucid manner. I developed a penchant towards trix only because of Gujarati.

Thanks for the prompt reply! I'm assuming you are referring to Basic Econometrics, and not Essentials of Econometrics.

Saw this only after posting. I liked Essentials at uni too. Thanks again.
